Coolest
idea of the year - email tracking! I recently found out
that by adding a .mailtracking.com at the end of your email
recipient's email address, you can actually track your email. You
can track if its read, when, for how long, from which part of the
world, the IP address and a lot of other stuff. You can even
monitor if the email has been printed or forwarded to anyone
else. So for example if I want to send to abc@hotmail.com,
I would just send to abc@hotmail.com.mailtracking.com
and thats it ! A really cool feature is that you can send a self
destructing mail where it will display on the recipient's screen
for 60 seconds and then .... its gone !!
I know of someone
who used it on a few of his clients to see if they were
forwarding the quotes to anyone. Interestingly he had a prospect
who actually turned out to be a competitor. And as you know how
accounts departments always claim they did not get that mail
chasing them for payment? Well now they don't have much excuse
because via the site, I can tell when, how many times, for how
long they read the mail.
Check them out. It may be worth
your while. They have some sort of free trial. They can be found
at http://www.mailtracking.com/default.asp/from/go
